RAILWAYS ENGINEERING OFFICE FOR EAST JAVA REGION INTENSIFIES INSPECTION OF MINIMUM SERVICE STANDARDS AT TRAVEL AND TRAIN STATIONS TOWARD OF THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS 2021 AND NEW YEAR 2022

Surabaya (30/11), This is not a new thing, especially towards the end of 2021, there will be an increase in passengers, one of which is the train mode of transportation. Based on this, Railways Engineering Office for East Java is intensifying the implementation of monitoring and evaluation of several railway facilities and stations ahead of the 2021 Christmas and New Year 2022 holidays according to applicable regulations, which are carried out in 3 Operational Areas in East Java.

This monitoring was carried out on November 10 to 27, aiming to assess the fulfillment of the Minimum Service Standards for the Transportation of People by Train, both on trains and at stations as mandated in the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM 63 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards for the Transportation of People. By Train. This monitoring activity was carried out at several stations including Daop 7 Madiun (6 Major Stations namely Madiun, Kediri, Tulungagung, Jombang, Kertosono, and Blitar), Daop 8 Surabaya (6 Major Stations namely Surabaya Gubeng, Surabaya Pasarturi, Surabaya Kota, Malang, Mojokerto and Wonokromo as well as 5 Medium Stations namely Bojonegoro, Sidoarjo, Bangil, Lamongan, Kepanjen), Daop 9 Jember (2 major stations namely Ketapang and Jember stations and 1 medium station namely Banyuwangi Kota Station).


Basically, there are requirements that must be met by the station based on the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM 63 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards for the Transportation of People by Train, including safety aspects, security aspects, reliability aspects, comfort aspects, convenience aspects, and equality aspects.


Monitoring was carried out jointly with the Directorate of Railways Traffic and Transport and Indonesian Railways Company  takes place not only at Christmas and New Year celebrations but also at the celebration of Eid al-Fitr which is routinely held every year.


For prospective passengers who will travel during the Christmas New Year period, it is hoped that they will be able to comply with the regulations and health protocols that have been set by the station and on the train.
