Therefore, the railroad and its entire construction is a very important part, one of which is the Railroad Switch. Railroad Switch are also very important in railways.

Railroad Switch is a railroad construction used to connect two or more railroads. The railroad itself is another name for the railroad track, or in general it is simply called "rail".

Along the main line, at certain points, for example at the station, other lines are installed that are connected to the main line so that the train can change lines. This line change is necessary due to various factors, such as: The train is going in a different direction than the straight line (main line) where the train is moving.

On November 9 to 12 last week, the Railways Infrastructure Testing Team of the Railways Testing Office of the Directorate General of Railways carried out its first follow-up test which took place in Medan City, North Sumatra, to be precise at Binjai Station to Kuala Bingai Station.

The train line between Binjai Station to Kuala Bigai Station, which will operate and will be passed by the Amir Hamzah Perintis Train on November 22, 2021, is approximately 14 km away. Now one of the tests carried out is the money order test which is located at the emplacement of Binjai Station.

In its implementation, the Railways Infrastructure Testing Team conducted tests on three Railroad Switch located at Binjai Station, namely Railroad Switch 11, 31, and 33. In addition to railroad switch, tests were also carried out on free space, emplacements, railroads, and Overcapping or commonly called the platform roof. at Binjai Station.

This test has been stated in the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation (Permenhub) Number 30 of 2011 concerning Procedures for Testing and Providing Railways Infrastructure Certification. It must be carried out on every new and operational infrastructure by conducting a function test of the railway infrastructure.

The results of the tests that have been carried out will be submitted to the Directorate of Railways Infrastructure for monitoring and evaluation and processed for the issuance of the first test certificate.
