Ahead of the Operation of the Solo KRL Depot, KCI & Baperka DJKA Officially Sign Cooperation
SURAKARTA – The Solo Jebres KRL Depot is ready to operate from August 2024. The operation of the Electric Train maintenance facility is confirmed after PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (PT KCI) together with the Railway Maintenance Center of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation, officially signed two cooperation documents on the utilization of the Depot's assets. The agenda for signing the Cooperation Agreement was carried out in Surakarta, Friday (26/7/2024).
The signing of the PKS was carried out by the Main Director of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia Asdo Artriviyanto and the Head of the DJKA Railway Maintenance Center Prayudi.
According to Prayudi, the two jointly signed cooperation documents include the use of the land and buildings of the Solo Jebres KRL Depot, and the use of equipment and machines attached to them.
This collaboration aims to increase the optimization of assets and equipment built by BTP Class 1 Semarang and DJKA as the regulator which can be utilized by PT KCI as the urban train operator, in the context of improving the maintenance of railway facilities so that they are always operationally viable so as to further improve safety in the field of facilities. KRL especially the Yogyakarta Solo connection.
"This is the first momentum in the context of developing sustainable Yogyakarta Solo KRL services, as an effort to improve urban rail services," explained Prayudi in his speech at the signing of the collaboration.
Safety, security and comfort are important factors in mass transportation services, so according to Prayudi this collaboration is a strategic step to improve the quality of Yogyakarta Solo KRL service. This is realized in the form of support for Solo Jebres KRL Depot maintenance facilities which will be operated through collaboration between PT KCI and the DJKA Railway Maintenance Center.
The depot, which is located in Ngemingan, Jebres District, Surakarta, occupies an area of 8,080 square meters. Equipped with office service facilities with several rooms, including Monthly Check Room, Annual Check Room, Daily Check Room, Logistics, Tools, Used Spare Parts Warehouse and New Spare Parts.
According to initial planning, the construction of this depot facility aims to improve the quality of service to the KRL user community.
The depot has 3 train lines connected to LAA (Upstream Electricity). Line 1 is 273 meters long, able to accommodate 13 KRL. Line 2 is 295.75 meters long and can accommodate 14 KRL. The Yogyakarta - Solo KRL connection service consists of 8 KRL sets. Track 3, 315.88 meters long, functions as a stabling and train washing area outside the workshop building.
With the support of these various facilities, the Depot can provide periodic maintenance capabilities for electric trains from daily, monthly, three-monthly (P3), six-monthly (P6), to annual maintenance (P12).
With the operation of the Solo Jebres KRL Depot, the maintenance capacity of at least 2 train sets / 32 KRLs per day, consisting of 16 maintenance KRLs and 16 washing KRLs, will improve the safety, security and comfort of KRL facilities and Yogyakarta Solo KRL passengers.
Apart from that, the Solo Jebres KRL Depot is also equipped with various supporting equipment such as overhead cranes with a capacity of 7.5 tons and other lifting equipment, lifting jacks, forklifts, wheel diameter measuring equipment, hydraulic tools, and is equipped with a generator with a capacity of 500 Kva to anticipate blackouts. electricity. To supply clean water, a hydrant installation is installed, and a waste water treatment plant (IPAL) for waste water for washing facilities, so that it does not disturb the environment.
Apart from that, there is complete KRL train checking equipment (Digital Sound Level, Diameter Test Equipment, Digital Lux Meter, and others).
The depot is designed to ensure KRL facilities are always in operational condition, with various superior facilities for storing, checking, maintaining and repairing KRL facilities and their supporting components.
This facility aims to support the maintenance of KRL facilities so that it can improve safety, security and comfort in KRL operational services.
Through this collaboration, it is hoped that it can strengthen synergy and collaboration between regulators and railway operators, in order to advance railway transportation in Indonesia, especially urban rail transportation services.
The President Director of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia, Asdo Artriviyanto, also said the same thing, that the operation of the Solo Jebres KRL Depot can improve the service and maintenance of the Yogyakarta – Palur KRL facilities. "This KRL Facility maintenance facility is the first KRL Depot in the Yogyakarta area," said Asdo.
Asdo added that the Solo Jebres KRL Depot will complement the maintenance area for KRL facilities that were previously operated. "Apart from the Solo Jebres KRL Depot, for maintenance of Yogyakarta - Palur KRL facilities, PT KCI previously operated two KRL Train Affairs Supervisory (PUK) places, namely Klaten KRL PUK and Solo Balapan KRL PUK.
As we all know, public interest in using the Yogyakarta – Palur KRL is very high. With an average user volume of 25 - 30 thousand people on weekdays and 30 - 35 thousand people on holidays, it is necessary that KRL facilities must always be reliable in serving all their users.
It is hoped that the operation of the Solo Jebres KRL Depot can increase the reliability of KRL facilities operated in the Yogyakarta - Palur area.
