Performance Test: Train Acceleration and Deceleration Performance
Grobogan – The Railways Maintenance Office in collaboration with PT IMMS (Inka Multi Solusi Service) conducted a performance test on several train. The activity was carried out on Thursday (12/16/2021) with a travel relationship from Ngrombo Station to Karangjati Station for a one-way round trip route.
The performance test was carried out on three train at the Ngrombo Workshop, the Railways Maintenance Office. The three train include a Hydraulic Diesel Locomotive with the identity numbering CC 300 12 02, then the Merbabu Inspection Train with the identity numbering SI 3 15 01-02, and the Ciremai Measurement Train with the identity numbering SU 3 14 01.
According to WAM data (Warta Maklumat) published by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), the operation of train for performance testing is carried out one by one tain with a duration of two hours per train running on the same route. The synergy carried out by the three institutions engaged in the rail transportation sector on performance test work aims to maintain the quality of the railway sector in terms of transportation safety.
From monitoring during the performance test activity, the facility maintenance team conducted a performance test using several parameters, including the parameters for accelerating the speed of the facility, decelerating the rate of the facility, the emergency braking panel embedded in the inner wall of the train room, then the temperature of the wheel of the facility measured at the speed distance. certain parameters, as well as other parameters refer to the instruction manual issued by the manufacturer.
Each of the three means was applied for acceleration and braking action on the test train and not on a single train series, but specifically for performance testing on a hydraulic diesel locomotive, the addition of several self-propelled trains were coupled, for the application of braking tests on a series of trains that were connected. pulled by a locomotive.
The round-trip route which is run during performance test work, is intended to check the two cabins on each train. The departing route is to check the first cabin engineer's room, then the return route to check the second cabin engineer's room. So that complete train performance data is obtained from all sides of the operation.
Throughout the observation of the coverage, the route traversed by the train for checking performance tests has varied rail lines, including straight lines, curves, passing through several railroad bridge constructions, as well as crossing several drafts.
