DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF RAILWAYS CONDUCT A SURVEY OF ADVANCED TRANSPORTATION MODES

(Bandung 29/10) The Directorate General of Railways through the Traffic, Facilities and Safety Surveyor Team (LSK), the Railways Engineering Office for the West Java Region carried out an Advanced Transportation Mode Survey for Urban Rail Transportation Users in DAOP 2 Bandung Region. The survey was conducted by giving questionnaires to as many as 430 respondents using local trains on 27 to 28 October 2021 at 12 stations serving passenger trains in the Greater Bandung area.

According to the Head of LSK Section, Fitri Antara, the main purpose of this survey activity is to map the profile of passengers at all urban stations classified based on age, income, and origin of travel destinations as well as the continued mode used after using the train mode of transportation.

The results of the survey conducted on prospective train passengers will be used as evaluation material in improving the service quality of station facilities, especially in the provision of parking spaces so that the number of parking needs can be calculated. Follow-up of the results of this survey will be used as a recommendation in the fulfillment of parking services for consumers who bring private vehicles.

The survey activity is also an indicator in analyzing how much knowledge the number of respondents from a community group know about the role of the Directorate General of Railways in the development of the railway sector. In addition, this survey can also measure testimonies from the public as users of train services regarding the plan to re-operate Gedebage Station for passenger transportation in 2022.

A positive comment was conveyed by Nanan Hendra, one of the passengers of the Bandung Raya Local Train whom we met during the activity at Bandung Station, expressing his appreciation for the condition of the station which is now much better than before. good," he said.

Other passengers of the Bandung Raya Local Train also hope that the service quality of the station in Bandung Raya can be better, "Yes, the hope is that the better one is more comfortable, and the wait for the train is not too long," said Mariana, another passenger we met.

In addition to providing questionnaires, the survey was also conducted using the direct interview method, which had been prepared for users of the Bandung Raya local train service by asking a total of 23 questions related to passenger profiles and their experiences while using trains with advanced modes of transportation.

Previously, the Survey of Advanced Transportation Modes for Regional Urban Rail Transportation Users had also been carried out in Region 3 Cirebon in the first week of October.
