Jakarta - The Directorate of Railways Rolling Stock at the Ministry of Transportation has carried out rampcheck activities or on-site inspections for the 2021 Eid transportation.

This activity has been carried out from March 22, 2021 to April 09, 2021. This time Rampcheck was held in three Indonesian Railway Operation Areas, namely, DAOP I Jakarta, DAOP II Bandung, and DAOP VI Yogyakarta.

In addition to being implemented in the three DAOPs, rampchecks are also carried out in four Regional Divisions (Divre) which include North Sumatra Divre I, West Sumatra Divre II, Kertapati Divre III and Tanjungkarang Divre IV with a total of 964 units of facilities that have been inspected. The inspection is carried out by the Directorate of Railways Rolling Stock and the local Railways Engineering Office (BTP), while the inspection carried out at the Divre is assisted by each Railways Engineering Office in the Sumatra region.

One of the government's roles in creating safety, smooth and comfortable transportation is by conducting random checks on railway facilities. The rampcheck activity can be a benchmark for the readiness and feasibility of railway facilities before they are used to carry out Eid transportation activities in 2021.

The railway facilities inspected are passenger transportation facilities used for Eid transportation in 2021. Although the government has prohibited the Eid homecoming with all transportation sectors from 6th to 17th May 2021, this activity is still carried out because the government still allows some train transportation to operate on the holiday season. For example, railways in urban areas and agglomeration areas.

This activity is expected to support the safety of the operation so it is necessary to anticipate to ensure safety, smoothness and comfort during the trip.
