WORK VISIT OF THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION TO YOGYAKARTA

Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation Djoko Sasono carried out a working visit to the Special Region of Yogyakarta on August 6, 2021. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation carried out this activity in the context of monitoring and reviewing the preparation of isolation facilities and infrastructure for employees exposed to COVID-19 and efforts to inhibit the spread of COVID-19 within the Ministry communication. During his visit, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation was accompanied by the Head of the Railways Engineering Office Claas I for the Central Java Region, Putu Sumarjaya. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation visited the PT. KAI Lempuyangan Yogyakarta which is planned to be used as a centralized and monitored isolation place

Currently, Yogyakarta requires a centralized and monitored isolation place that is connected to the hospital. So that if the patient's condition decreases, it can be directly treated and referred to the hospital.

For this reason, the Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Railways will provide a centralized and monitored isolation place to help Covid patients in Yogyakarta. In this activity, DJKA cooperates with RS. Gadjah Mada University. Later the crew/crew of trains, buses and passengers or prospective passengers and the surrounding community who are exposed to Covid can carry out centralized and monitored isolation at the BPTT PT Building. At the centralized and monitored isolation location, oxygen will be prepared (at least 12 oxygen concentrators), 2 ambulances, and stand-by health workers consisting of 2 doctors and 4 nurses.

Existing facilities in a centralized and monitored isolation location consist of 160 beds (80 rooms), sports fields and also laundry.

The parties involved in this activity are the Secretariat General of Railways, the Railways Engineering Office Class I for the Central Java Region, the Railways Maintenance Center, PT KAI, PT RMU. DYA Covid 19 Task Force, DIY Provincial Health Office and Gadjah Mada University Academic Hospital (UGM)

In his next activity, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation continued his visit to Kulonprogo to review the construction of the YIA Airport railway line. The construction of the YIA Airport Railway is almost complete. The progress has reached 97%. On August 5, 2021, the second trial was carried out. The result is the track is ready to operate. Need to add ballast or stone blades so the train can run more smoothly.
