The construction of the Yogyakarta International Airport Railways is almost complete. The national strategic project (PSN) is now starting to enter the second trial phase.

This time the test uses locomotives from the station to the airport station. In the trial this time went smoothly and no obstacles were found.

"This is the second trial on the YIA Airport Train Line. The first trial was conducted in mid-July 2021. The first test was conducted on the Downstream Line. This trial went smoothly" said Dheky Martin PPK Area 1 Railways Engineering Office Class I Central Java Region.

This trial aims to find out that the track is ready for the Train.

"The test this time the goal is to know that the track is ready to go through. Then from the infrastructure like a rail and reply can be passed by the train eat the locomotive tests, "said Dheky.

In this test, the locomotive ran at a maximum speed of 60 km / h along the 5 km track from the station to the airport station. The results of the test that the train line is ready to be operated.

"The result on the downstream path is okay and for the upstream line can be said to be roadworthy, only there is still a little record for additional reply or blade stones so that it can be traversed more smoothly." Said Dimas Site Manger PT. Prime Asta

"The progress of the overall construction of this railway line has been 97%, only for its own track work means that for railway infrastructure this has been about 99% to be traversed. The signal was also tested. The signal can already be turned on, the entry and exit is as expected." Dimas said.

As is known, YIA airport railways is a national strategy project (PSN) carried out by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) through the Railway Engineering Office Class I of Central Java Region.

The construction of this railway is carried out in a plural year (multiyear)  starting in 2019. The length of this line is 5.3 km from Kedundang Station to YIA Airport. The Divestment Value is 1.1 Trillion

Later if this train line is already operational can shorten the journey from the airport to the city of Yogyakarta or vice versa to only 45 minutes compared to passing the highway between 60-90 minutes.

Airport trains will operate from Yogyakarta Station to YIA Airport or vice versa with 3 stops namely Yogyakarta Station, Wates Station and YIA Airport Station.
