Wasmatlitrik on Theft of State Assets in the Batu Tabal – Kacang Station Segment

Padang—Recently, Class II Railway Engineering Centre Padang accompanied the Railway Safety Directorate Team, Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, to conduct a wasmatlitrik (supervision and monitoring) activity regarding the theft of state assets in the railway sector along the inactive segment between Stasiun Batu Tabal(KM 93+873) and Stasiun Kacang (KM 104+609) in West Sumatra.

This activity followed an earlier report from BTP Padang to Ditkes (Directorate of Railway Safety) about the theft of railway assets. Wasmatlitrik is an effort to oversee and prevent, inspect, and investigate actions related to the theft or misuse of state assets. This activity involves the use of technology, audits, and internal control mechanisms to ensure that assets are protected from theft or misuse.

“This is a serious issue that is causing significant harm to the state. Therefore, BTP Padang, through Sawahlunto Service Unit, will continue to improve efforts to prevent and supervise state assets more thoroughly than before,” said Hendrialdi, Head of BTP Padang, in his statement.

Furthermore, according to Head of District Office, state assets should never be stolen; rather, they should be protected collectively. Such acts of theft are criminal and harm all of us as a society.

Note: There is no justification for theft. If you witness or have information about any theft, please contact Balai Teknik Perkeretaapian Padang via Instagram @btppadang or through WhatsApp at 081374239299.
