A Decade of Baperka, Synergizing and Caring

Purwodadi – The Decade of the Railway Maintenance Center (Baperka also called Balai Perawatan Perkeretaapian) was held with the theme Baperka Cares About Education as well as the Commemoration of World AIDS Day which was held at the Ir Soekarno Park in Purwodadi City, Sunday (1/12/2024).
Although it has institutional duties in the field of railway maintenance, especially State-Owned Facilities (SMN or railway facilities owned by the state/government), the Railway Maintenance Center does not immediately forget its social role as an entity in the midst of the community.
In a cheerful atmosphere, the Head of the Railway Maintenance Center, Prayudi, expressed his gratitude when officially opening the series of commemorations, after the joint exercise activity.
"Ten years is not a short time, we (Baperka) are present in Grobogan Regency. Hopefully Baperka can continue to provide positive benefits and contribute in various sectors. One of them is the Baperka Peduli Pendidikan program, where we open an educational train tour service or edutrain for kindergarten children," explained Prayudi. The opening of the event was also marked by the launch of the book "A Decade Journey: A Decade Journey of the Railway Maintenance Center". This book contains the achievements of the Railway Maintenance Center over the past ten years, starting from asset development, management and maintenance of state-owned facilities, and also social contributions that have been made to the surrounding community.
The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Grobogan Regency, Anang Armunanto, who was present as the guest of honor, also expressed his appreciation. "I really appreciate the holding of this event. This is an example of good synergy and collaboration between Baperka (central government agency) and the Grobogan Regency Government," he explained, after previously inviting the audience to shout the cheers Satu Desawarsa Baperka, Maju, Jaya, Luar Biasa enthusiastically in front of hundreds of residents who attended.
In line with the spirit conveyed by the Grobogan Regional Secretary, the Head of the Railway Maintenance Center stated his readiness to collaborate with the Grobogan Regional Government. The Satu Desawarsa Baperka event was also a collaboration with the Grobogan Health Office, which included socialization about the importance of health including AIDS prevention which is an integral part of this activity.
"This collaboration is a form of Baperka's concern for the health sector. The One Decade Momentum of the Railway Maintenance Center is a reflection of how synergy and collaboration between stakeholders can be realized through institutional agendas that provide benefits to the community, such as what was done this morning," said Prayudi. The spirit of the One Decade Baperka commemoration was lifted from the social roles that Baperka tried to present in the railway educational tourism service program (edutrain) which targets elementary school students or more specifically kindergarten children. In addition, for high school students, especially vocational high school and college students, the Railway Maintenance Center provides a place as a place for work internships in the railway sub-sector. Interns can learn how to maintain a railway facility, as well as types of work related to management.
Considering the role of the Center in the field of education, the theme carried on the One Decade commemoration was entitled Baperka Cares About Education.
Not only caring about education, as emphasized by the Head of the Railway Maintenance Center, the Center collaborated with the Grobogan Regency Health Office to commemorate World AIDS Day on the same stage.
Based on observations in the field, the morning atmosphere was bright, with visitors coming to witness the celebration of Baperka's one decade journey.
The event began with healthy gymnastics activities led by two experienced gymnastics instructors. The movements chosen were able to build the energy of the gymnastics participants while inviting laughter and cheerfulness from the faces of the gymnastics participants. Also participating in the gymnastics, who spilled out with hundreds of gymnasts were Prayudi and Anang Armunanto.
After the exercise activity, which was followed by the inauguration of the start of the series of events of Semarang Satu Desawarsa Baperka by the Head of Baperka, and continued with the launching ceremony of the book Satu Desawarsa Baperka, the Head of the Railway Maintenance Center then symbolically handed over the book not only to the Grobogan Regional Secretary, but also to two representatives of vocational schools in Grobogan Regency, as a symbol of synergy with educational institutions.
Shortly after, the coloring competition for kindergarten children which became the main attraction for visitors began. No less than 160 kindergarten children participated in the competition. They were in the middle of the competition area, while the parents remained enthusiastic to accompany them on the edge of the competition area.
In addition to waiting for the competition to take place, the parents and other visitors sat in front of the medical team on duty at the free health check-up table. This free check-up stand further complemented Baperka's concern for the community.
In between the coloring competition which lasted for approximately one hour, there was an educational presentation on the entertainment stage on the east side of Taman Ir. Soekarno, alternately by the Baperka team, and from PKBI (Indonesian Family Planning Association). In addition, in parallel, the PMI Grobogan team was ready on the west side of the park, joining in filling the event, by deploying a special vehicle ready to serve the community who would donate blood. The vehicle in the form of a medium bus could accommodate four blood donors.
In between the visitors, a group of teenagers were seen wearing red vests with PMI accents. They were apparently representatives of PMR members from various schools in Grobogan, who also supported the Baperka event.
This momentum became a healthy gathering space for the Grobogan community with their families.
After the children participating in the coloring competition “played around” with their colored pencils, they were no less enthusiastic about watching the magic show that was able to amaze the children. Almost all the children's attention was focused on the magical movements of the magician.
The series of activities took place lively and certainly safe until the end of the event. All participants showed their happy expressions, doing activities on the holiday with their families.
In addition to spreading happiness to the Grobogan community, the social mission was also achieved when the PMI Team reported that 50 blood bags were successfully collected throughout the event. (yogo)
