BPKARSS HELD COSPLAY AND KARAOKE CONTEST TO ENCOURAGE GEN-Z TO USE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
In an effort to increase creativity and cooperation among Generation Z (Gen-Z), the South Sumatra Light Railway Management Center (BPKARSS) organized a cosplay and karaoke competition at Cinde LRT station on Saturday (1/27). The participants were mostly students.
The event was a collaboration between BPKARSS and Palembang Cosplay Community. The activity was not only to explore artistic talents, but also to invite participants to use public transportation as a means of transportation to the event location.
In the spirit of reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable mobility, the organizing committee hopes that the collaboration will be continuous. Participants are expected to come up with creative cosplay costumes and perform their favorite songs in a fun karaoke session.
One of the participants was Ahmad Barakah Novrianda. The Kusuma Bangsa Junior High School student participated in the karaoke competition. He performed the Naruto OST soundtrack, entitled Blue Bird. He won first place with a trophy and a cash prize.
"I heard about the contest from a friend. Then I was told to participate. I was very excited," he said. Based on the author's observations on the ground, the atmosphere was so enthusiastic when Barakah performed the song. "Everyone joined in the singing. That made me even more excited," she said. He hopes this activity can continue. The goal is to encourage creativity in young people.
Meanwhile, BPKARSS Facilities and Infrastructure Utilization Manager Aditya Yunianto said the event was held at the Cinde LRT station, so they also used public transportation to get there. This is an innovative step to raise awareness about the importance of public transport and reduce the use of private vehicles.
The event is expected to not only provide a fun entertainment experience for Gen-Z, but also for all other generations that care about the environment and are able to collaborate in achieving common goals.
