MEDAN - Class I Railway Engineering Center (BTP) Medan held a Service Unit Socialization (Satpel) at the Four Points Hotel by Sheraton Medan, on Wednesday, October 11 2023.

Also present at this event as a resource person were the Director of Railway Safety, Ir. Erni Basri, S.T., M.Eng., IPM, ASEAN Eng, Head of the Medan Class I Railway Engineering Center, Dedik Tri Istiantara, SE., S.Si.T., M.T., Secretary of the North Sumatra Province Transportation Service, Rochani Lityloly, S.T , M.T., and also attended by representatives of PT. KAI Divre I North Sumatra, representatives of the Aceh Province Transportation Service and 4 Districts/Cities in Aceh Province, as well as representatives of the Transportation Service in 13 Districts/Cities of North Sumatra Province.

The legal basis for the formation of this Service Unit is contained in Minister of Transportation Regulation Number 36 of 2022 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of the Railway Engineering Center.

"Their (Satpel) task is to supervise, so currently their job is as an extension of BTP Medan, which we may not be able to reach the Aceh area in a short time, so this Satpel will visit the area," said Dedik.

Dedik Tri Istiantara also emphasized that the Medan Class I BTP Unit and the Regional Transportation Service (Dishub) could work together well.

"It is hoped that Service Unit friends will establish communication and coordination with the Transportation Service, for example in terms of visiting areas related to crossings or other things, so that they can write to the relevant Transportation Service," said Dedik, on Wednesday, October 11 2023.

It is known that the Unit functions to reach services in the work area of the Railway Engineering Center. The Unit is led by the Service Unit Coordinator and is under and under the responsibility of the Head of the Center.

"The basis for the formation of the Satpel is that DJKA wants to reach its working area quickly. Then it was strengthened by the Decree of the Minister of Transportation number KP 460 of 2023, so it will only be in 2023 that this Satpel will be established by the Director General, we have socialized it and immediately moved quickly to monitor facilities and railway infrastructure," he said.

Meanwhile, the scope of coordination of the Class I Medan Railway Engineering Unit is divided into four regions: Lhokseumawe, Pangkalan Brandan, Tebing Tinggi and Rantauprapat.

Lhokseumawe Unit, covering North Aceh Regency, Bireuen Regency, Lhokseumawe City
