PT NNA Indonesia visited the Light Rail Transit (LRT) of South Sumatra (South Sumatra) on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. The arrival of personnel from PT NNA Indonesia aims to discuss and evaluate the management of South Sumatra LRT from the period 2018 to 2023 to be reported.
Since the inauguration of the South Sumatra LRT in 2018, its role as a means of mass transportation in the South Sumatra region has increased. The South Sumatra LRT is expected to not only reduce traffic congestion in the city but also make a positive contribution to the regional economy and community welfare.
During the meeting, PT NNA Indonesia highlighted several important aspects in the management of the South Sumatra LRT. One of the main focuses is operational efficiency and infrastructure maintenance. The delegation appreciated the steps taken by the South Sumatra LRT management team to ensure passenger safety and comfort.
In addition, the financial and marketing aspects of the South Sumatra LRT were also discussed. PT NNA Indonesia provided constructive suggestions on how to increase revenue and achieve higher passenger targets. In this context, an in-depth understanding of local people's travel trends is key to adjusting marketing strategies.
One of PT NNA Indonesia's employees, Natsumi Uemura, stated that the management of the South Sumatra LRT should be made more reliable, comfortable, and safe. "South Sumatra LRT must be the first choice in public transportation. It must also be able to operate efficiently and sustainably," she said.
The meeting was also a forum to share experiences and lessons learned between PT NNA Indonesia and South Sumatra LRT. The South Sumatra LRT management team provided an in-depth look at the challenges and opportunities faced over the past five years, while PT NNA Indonesia shared best practices from similar projects implemented in Japan.
As a next step, both parties agreed to continue working together to improve Indonesia's mass transit infrastructure. Long-term plans, including capacity enhancement and expansion of the modal integration network supporting the LRT, are an important part of the agenda.
In an interview, Rode Paulus, head of the South Sumatra Light Railway Management Center (BPKARSS), said he was very happy to receive various inputs from PT NNA Indonesia. "We really appreciate the visit and input from PT NNA Indonesia. This is a positive step to improve the quality of service and provide maximum benefit to the community," he said. He hopes that with good cooperation, South Sumatra LRT will continue to develop into one of the leading mass transportation systems in Indonesia.
This visit not only reflects the commitment of foreign companies to invest in Indonesia's transportation sector, but also marks an important step in achieving the government's vision of improving connectivity and mobility throughout the country.
