SOUTH SUMATRA LRT ENGAGES THE YOUNG GENERATION TO TURN PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION INTO A LIFESTYLE

The South Sumatra Light Railway Management Center, as the manager of the South Sumatra Light Rail Transit (LRT), is preparing to change the paradigm of public transportation into a lifestyle. That is, working with the younger generation in the success of the National Movement to Return to Public Transportation (GNKAU).

In order to create a positive trend among the younger generation and stimulate interest in using public transportation, the South Sumatra LRT will launch a series of initiatives that combine modern lifestyles with sustainability. South Sumatra LRT's management believes that engaging the younger generation is key to creating positive changes in transportation behavior.

Aditya Yunianto, Head of Facilities and Infrastructure Utilization Section BPKARSS, said that working with the younger generation is a strategic step to create a positive trend towards using LRT and public transport in general. "We want LRT to be seen not only as a means of transportation but also as part of a modern, eco-friendly, and sustainable lifestyle," he said.

One of the key projects to be launched is the "LRT as Lifestyle" campaign. Through this campaign, South Sumatra LRT will invite the younger generation to participate in various creative activities, such as art performances at stations, the best LRT photography competition, and the development of special programs for students.

In addition, South Sumatra LRT will work with student communities, young influencers, and creative workers to create inspiring and educational content on the benefits of using public transportation, especially LRT. The campaign is expected to open the eyes of the younger generation to the positive contributions of using public transport to the environment and urban life.

The youth generation will also be invited to participate in a discussion on public transportation, which is aimed at empowering them to become ambassadors of the South Sumatra LRT and to invite their peers to join the movement.

In an effort to increase participation, South Sumatra LRT is also launching promotions, subscription fares, and various exciting activities at LRT stations. These promotions and subscription fares are expected to be not only a practical tool for users but also a means to connect the LRT user community.

Through these initiatives, the South Sumatra LRT hopes to create an environment where using public transportation is not only a necessity but also a smart, modern, and environmentally conscious lifestyle choice.
