Padang - Following the flash floods and landslides that occurred in the Anai Valley area some time ago, the Padang Class II Railway Engineering Centre conducted a field inspection of the affected inactive railway assets.

Based on the observations of the Padang BTP team, there is still about 2,5 kilometres of the line between Andang Ampat Station and Kampung Tengah Station that can be used by the community. While the length of the station line from KM 65+163 to KM 69+804 is about 4 kilometres.

We conducted this activity to find out the existing condition of the railway infrastructure after the flash floods that hit the area. Of course, this activity is part of BTP Padang's efforts to monitor and secure railway infrastructure assets on inactive lines with the Padang Panjang Service Unit as an extension of BTP Padang,' said BTP Padang Chief Endang Setiawan in his statement.

BTP Padang is conducting tracking to monitor and visually observe the affected railway lines. Some access points are impassable because they are filled with bushes.

During the on-site inspection, we also found that the condition of the bridge on BH 154 was still in good condition and there were no gogosan on the abutments or piers," he added.
