The Percentage of Facility Improvement at Pauh Lima Station Reached 100

Padang: Since 2023, Pauh Lima Station's facilities have been improved by the Class II Padang Railway Engineering Center. As of this now, 100% of the Pariaman Ekspres train Pauh Lima-Naras connection's station improvement process has been accomplished.

The station in Padang City's Pauh District, Limau Manih, has been improved with new buildings, restrooms, waiting areas, places of worship, platform extensions, ticketing booths, lactation rooms, health rooms, larger parking lots, accessible parking, and other amenities.

"In accordance with the relevant minimum service standards (SPM), we take this action to give the people of West Sumatra the best possible service. Furthermore, because Pauh Lima Station is near Andalas University, the largest campus in West Sumatra, it is frequently visited by tourists, according to Head of BTP Padang Endang Setiawan.

This infrastructure upgrade is being done in tandem with Pauh Lima Station's reopening to passenger trains following 44 years of inactivity.

For the record, the station with the IMA code was opened in 1979 along with the opening of the Bukit Putus-Indarung crossing, offering specialized services for the transfer of Semen Padang. After that, on 1 March 2023, this station has once more provided passenger service to Naras Station by the Pariaman Ekspres train, formerly known as Sibinuang.

Then, in the previous year, a facility improvement project was started and completed, including a self-evaluation. Kabalai stated, "We are merely awaiting testing from the center to verify the station's viability in compliance with the relevant SPM.

"I hope the improvements that have been made can be maintained and used as well as possible for train users in West Sumatra," he said

Along with improving Pauh Lima Station's facilities, BTP Padang constructed Kampung Juar Station, a tiny station, on Jalan Kampung Jua Nan XX in the Lubuk Begalung District of Padang City, West Sumatra, the same year. (RAH)
